Since the 2nd May's operation,armed forces were being criticized,Army being the most.....
Not only 2nd May but there happened several other inicidents during these four years which earned armed forces a bad name,attack on Mehran naval base,buses of Navy,Attack on GHQ,Kamra air base being the most prominent ones......
Whatever the reason of these incidents be,politicians exploited these timely opportunities very well to criticize army and to equalize their vendettas.Short after the attackon mehran Base,Ilyas Kashmiri was killed in a drone attack.On a side note, i would say that top leadership of Taliban i.e BaitUllah mehsuud and Ilyas Kashmiri were killed in drone attacks........They could have never been killed by millitary operations and after their killing,suicide attacks and millitancy in northern areas has significantly reduced.So saying that drone attacks are useless is pointless.......
Returning to main issue,these attacks seemed to me partially due to security lapse and partially due to those few officers who choose to be religious but unknowingly fall prey to wong interpretations of religion i.e terrorism.....Salim Shehzad had indicated such elements and was found dead as a consequence mysteriously.....A commission was set to inquire about his death but that commission has'nt done any progress and you all know why? Simuilarly a commission was set to inquire 2nd May's operation.......That commission has also kept silence.......
And for the first time when Chief Jsutice Iftikhar Muhammad
Chaudhary inquired the culprits of NICL scandal,army took those reitred generals back in service to save them from appearing before the Civil Courts.I am pretty sure that those generals will never be trialed as long as they are in army.
Earlier Iftikhar Chaudhary had also asked representatives of agencies to appear and to make missing persons appear in the court.Agencies however showing some reluctance had made them appear in the court.Analysts were sayinbg from that time that Cheif Jsutice has poiched a grudge in the hearts of Army chief and DG ISI ..........
Now when Supreme Court gave the verdict on Asghar Khan case and criticized army for being involved in politics in past and echos of trial of Gen.(r) Hamid gull and Gen (r) Mirza Aslam Baig along with politicians of former IJI were heard,Army chief threatened Chief Justice in not-so-vague words but indirectly....Besides that we saw 3 generals appearing before NAB i.e before "bloody civillians".....How could army tolerate this insult?therefore Mr.Kiyani considered it right to warn CJ and govt. .........
Consequences
Although CJ's own son is facing allegations of corruption and is getting favours one after another from the commission,yet i think that retired as well as serving generals should be trialed if allegations on them come froward.........
Talking of current situation,apparently it seems that Army Chief
will not bear the burnt and will sack judiciary and govt. to exercise his power and authority....God forbid,if he does so,this will be very detrimental for the country because Judiciary has just started giving relief to people and it should'nt stop .....And I personally think that the strength and budget of our army should reduce by 2/5 of its current strength at least becasue a huge portion of our budget goes to defence due to which our country cant progress and prosper..........................
These are mere wishes,we can only pray that May Allah refrain army chief from sacking this government and judiciary.aamin.
