This is a true story and happened with me while i was working on my laptop one night, several years ago. While working, i found some shadow-like waves moving haphazardly in the room, in front of me.I Couldn't get at all that what it was. As i was pondering upon the question that what was that shadow-like wave, someone whirled me and i fell down. When i woke up, the scenes which i saw were strange to me.
Although it was only 8 p.m at that time, i couldn't see anything because there was darkness everywhere.I asked a pedestrian that why it was so dark over there? He replied that although the ruling party of 'Roshan Pakistan' is taking its 8th term (6th consecutive term), the issue of load shedding hasn't been resolved so far. Upon hearing this, i asked him 'What? Are you kidding me. This is 2015 and the ruling party's in govt for 3rd term'. He looked at me with pity as if i was talking nonsense and then spoke,'This is 2040 uncle, not 2015'.
This is how 'Roshan Pakistan' looked to me at that time:
Only big shopping malls seemed to had the luxury of electricity, unfortunately.
I wandered here and there like some crazy man hanging out purposelessly. I took shelter in a building which had become obsolete. I started working in a nearby city. My job earned me good amount of money and i managed to make my residence as well as life standard better.
To cut a long story short, i learnt how to adjust in this new advanced environment and new city in a very short time. I used to watch the TV to spend the most of the times. In 2040, media hadn't changed at all. The race for the coverage of breaking news was on and in this race media showed news like this, as well:
By listening to the news, i had increased my general knowledge to a fair extent. For example, i came to know through the news that one of the former CJs wasn't the only one to be one-eyed, the CJ in 2040 was one-eyed as well.Here's his file photo:
The opposition leader of Pakistan in 2040 was a man who looked in his 30s, but was actually over 50. He didn't seem serious in playing the role of an effective opposition. He looked like the man in the picture given below:
Actually, this man was a stake-holder in opposition in 2015. It took him 25 years to become opposition leader. Something must have happened to him during these years which caused the reversion of his aging process.
His claim to fame was a cancer hospital where cancer patients were treated free (as per his claim). In all these years, his hospital had upgraded as well. Now his hospital looked like something like this:
Actually, the hospital had shifted its focus from trivial medicine to alternative medicine especially spiritual treatment. This was the result of being ally of a clergy-oriented political party. I couldn't get much of the photos of the top leadership, though one of the local worker cum leader looks like the man who's holding the mug in the picture below:
The opposition leader had promised the public that he'll change their condition within 90 days if he gets elected. He had made several promises in this regard. This wasn't new for him. He had been doing so in 2013. Albeit, unfortunately he had been consistent in getting representation in one province only.
Back in 2015, he had announced to plant one billion trees. The plantation target hadn't been met in 2040 albeit the trees planted in 2015 looked like as the picture below:
In each term of his party's provincial govt. he focussed on the elimination of one major disease. 2038-43 was the term for the elimination of Myopia and other eye diseases. I got the opportunity to take the picture of a person who had undergone an operation in the province where his party was ruling. That person looked like this man:
Albeit the law and order situation was still stuggling to be counted as good and fair enough in 2040. Although he had formed a special force back in 2015, the members of which looked like the man in the picture below, the things had not got better.
Once i was in a market and a blast took place. I somehow managed to capture a scene from my camera and i'm sharing that picture below:
Such a big tragedy had happened in his province and he wasn't willing to go and visit those who had been injured and under treatment. After the criticism from different political circles as well as some anchors (whose integrity was suspicious to him), he agreed to visit the hospital and the heirs of the deceased ones. As he and his CM reached the house of one of the deceased ones, the daughter of the deceased slapped the CM on his face:
The reason for all the confusion and restlessness of the opposition leader was that he wasn't ready to accept the results of the elections. He was insistent that the elections had been rigged. He had been doing so since last 5 terms. He had been staging a sit-in during each term. He had staged one this time as well. This was his 6th sit-in. He used to lay inside a comfortable container during the day.
He used to sort out the ways and means by which he could bring those to the justice who had wronged him (as he used to consider that his mandate had been stolen through an organized and planned rigging). His fantasies would be like this:
The party which was in central govt. in 2040 had moved to the distribution of books in which the printing was done with 24 carat gold. All the books from class one to graduation were being printed with Gold. This step was taken after the laptop distribution scheme failed to show satisfactory results. The books looked like this one:
The ruling party had also initiated a flying metro service over the country's Fiscal hub to attract the tourists. Planes used to take off under this scheme, after every 5 seconds. I got a picture of this service as well:
Not only this but the ruling party had discovered Iron reserves in one of the remote areas of the largest of its states. The quality of Iron was tested by hand and was thus found good enough to meet th national needs.
Tax collection was still a problem in 2040 as people had found numerous ways for fool proof tax theft. One of the media houses in 2040 was still involved in the smuggling of Gold and when the concerned authorities stopped them, they used to forge some story. They had built a town out of Gold.
One of the biggest parties of the country, which was nationalist by orientation,used to 'enforce' the discipline on its workers literally. If someone was found neglecting to his duties, he was immediately suspended of co-ordination committee. The disciplinary action against the suspended members looked like this:
In 2040, a world super power named America still existed although different people from different walks of life had predicted its fall as early as in 2010. However, one of the tragedies of America was that the war on terror which it had started some 4 decades ago was still going on and 11/9/2001 like incidents had become much like a routine. I got the opportunity to capture one:
It had been 6 months that i was had been witnessing these things. One day as i was walking through the market i fell on the ground. My eyes got closed and my body began to tremble. I thought that my breath count had been complete and that it was the time to depart.Strange sounds started to come to my ears. My body began to shake terribly.
After some time,my body came to the rest and my eyes began to open themselves. Upon the opening of my eyes i found myself in the following state:
Only then i realized that it was a dream :)
